reinventing itself as a "location intelligence company for business"...."In the spring of 2016, Foursquare CEO Jeff Glueck went on CNBC to make a bold prediction: Chipotle comparable sales would fall by 29 percent in its first quarter.....Two weeks after Glueck’s appearance on CNBC, the Mexican eatery reported sales had fallen 29.7 percent from a year earlier....Three of the top five hedge funds are using Foursquare data to give them an investing edge." ----- Again though actual Foursquare money or stats is barely there. The article repeats twice the goal is $100M in revenue for 2017. No indication if it is realistic, has a good chance of happening, etc. No mention of 2016 revenue or numbers. So I mean come on! What we do know is "And inside Foursquare, Glueck has effectively redefined how to measure its own success. The company managed to raise $45 million in 2016, reportedly at half the $650 million valuation it commanded in 2013. Glueck won’t comment on that. He simply says the company was misunderstood, and now investors recognize that it’s a location intelligence company -- something that should be measured the same way as a services-as-a-software or programmatic advertising firm, which command a fraction of the multiples of sexy social media companies. With the new funding round, Glueck crafted a fresh “cap table,” which means the distribution of ownership was reconstituted. (That’s often the case when a company raises money in a “down round.”)" #startups #revenue #foursquare #boss #machine_learning #data_analytics #data_driven #data_mining #revenue_model #journalism #year_2017 #pub

Initially bookmarked with the date I assume this has, 2012-04-13. Used to be "http://searchco.de/", then "http://searchcode.com". Latter bookmarked at some point in 2013. And now, 2015-September, this current bookmark has the url updated. Deleting other two. And adding tags.

Edit: Actually, Pinboard seems to have the only one as the 2013 dated one of: 2013-06-14

subsidiary_sites: footer links to LOGIKA Corporation(R) http://www.logika.net

allows_user_registration, oauth, oauth_only: can only login and register via Twitter.

They also have solid clickbait/linkbait content like hashtag definitions, pages for every hashtag. SO basically a ton of stuff. IE:

https://www.hashtags.org/analytics/economy/ which is a solid page of automated stuff and aggregated data.

They got "content resources" like https://www.hashtags.org/how-to/search/how-to-use-hashtag-analytics/ or https://www.hashtags.org/platforms/twitter/what-characters-can-a-hashtag-include/

Then my god just screaming of spambutnotspam sort of shiz: https://www.hashtags.org/articles which is linked from the first tab on home page is just a few listed links, clicking any goes to another page usually, same look, like: https://www.hashtags.org/business/. Clicking something on there then goes to article editorial sort of pages about stuff happening with hashtags. I wonder how automated this is? Example list of article editorial page is: https://www.hashtags.org/business/brands/ and then an article from there is: https://www.hashtags.org/business/brands/microsofts-windowsphone-remains-in-constant-flux-among-hashtag-trends/. It is only 5 down but 9 months old...so not too updated with how they are spreading the stuff out. Latest one on that page is 6 weeks old. So they are def still updating.

Overall the monthly pricing is not cheap for sure.

_New tag: google_bait, which is basically SEO bait. And prob want to change clickbait and linkbait to have an underscore_

_New tag: allows_user_registration. Was going to do membership or something but that's already there and maybe points toward something paid. While I'm just saying free registration is possible/easy to do. Initially was going to do site_or_app_that_allows_user_registration but that is clearly too long...and now I'm writing too much_ #automated #revenue_model #research #linkbait #spambutnotspam #aggregation #oauth_only #SaaS #twitters #oauth #data_driven #!TO_TAG_bit_more #paid #monitoring #ideas #reference_for_work #data_visualization #data_mining #social_media #data #pricey #hashtags #APIs #SEO #data_analytics #revenue_stream #web_2.0 #monthly #subsidiary_sites #tracking #google_bait #copycopy #work #data_generation #SEO_oriented #allows_user_registration #crawling #@to_look_into #toread

This doesn't give ANY actual stats or info. Complete fluff lol. The only info they give is revenue is in triple-digit growth each year for the past three years (2012, 2013, 2014, maybe 2015). #foursquare #revenue #boss #machine_learning #data_analytics #data_driven #data_mining #startups #revenue_model #journalism #year_2015 #pub
