BunsenLabs, a Linux distribution that was born in 2015 as a successor to CrunchBang Linux, has just announced the launch of BunsenLabs Boron. This new release is a stable version based on Debian “Bookworm”.
BunsenLabs Boron introduces a fresh graphical user interface (GUI) called “Boron-aqua”. The GUI uses Debian Emerald wallpaper as its foundation, and features round-cornered windows, an icon-laden menu, and a vertical panel. All these elements can be modified according to user preferences. Additionally, the GUI offers alternate light and dark themes.
In addition to the new GUI, BunsenLabs Boron includes an optional utility for monitoring package upgrades. If any upgrades are available, this utility will notify the user. This package can be installed via the “welcome” script that runs on the first login.
BunsenLabs Boron also incorporates a range of other minor changes, tweaks, and bug fixes, further enhancing the stability and functionality of this Linux distribution.

Inoreader, the well-known web-based content and RSS feed reader, has unveiled a new feature called monitoring feeds, which offers enhanced organizational capabilities for users. This feature is designed to help users consolidate and track news related to specific people, brands, companies, trends, and events, much like the existing monitored keywords feature.
Monitoring feeds allow users to gather and organize information on specific topics of interest. This includes consolidating articles from various feeds already followed, or monitoring publications related to a user's brand, business, or personal profile. This feature also allows users to discover and track content from feeds they do not currently follow.
Inoreader's monitoring feeds offer advanced functionality such as the ability to filter results by language preference, use advanced syntax for sophisticated searches, and combine keywords and phrases in advanced queries. This allows users to achieve a tailored and organized view of the information that is most relevant to them.
To set up a monitoring feed, users need to navigate to the 'Search' section of their account, enter a keyword or phrase, select the desired type of search, apply relevant filters, and click 'Create monitoring feed' at the bottom of the screen.
Once a monitoring feed is created, it will be displayed under 'FEEDS' in the sidebar, alongside existing RSS and Web feeds, newsletters, and social feeds. This update aims to further streamline and personalize the way Inoreader users manage and consume digital content.

The Fedora Asahi Remix team has released an update just a month after their first stable version, introducing a range of enhancements. Among the key improvements is enhanced HDMI support, with Fedora Asahi Linux now compatible with Apple’s M1 and M2 generations, including all Pro/Max/Ultra variants. HDMI output functionality extends to 14-/16-inch MacBook Pros, leaving the Mac Pro as the only unsupported platform.
The update also incorporates OpenGL ES 3.1 drivers, marking the only conformant OpenGL ES 3.1 implementation for M1- and M2-family graphics hardware. Alongside this, the update boosts Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support, corrects trackpad size reporting, and enhances touchbar, camera and speaker functionality. Additional improvements include extended battery life and a unified kernel package (kernel-16k) for comprehensive hardware integration.
In terms of media, the update addresses DRM requirements, ensuring compatibility with popular streaming services such as Netflix and Spotify. H.264 support is now included as standard, thanks to OpenH264 from Cisco.
Looking ahead, the Asahi team plans to focus on improving video hardware decoding, enhancing 3D acceleration performance in a VM, and supporting DP Alt Mode and Thunderbolt in future releases.
