Dangerous travel and life-threatening wind chills will continue through Christmas Eve, An extremely dangerous situation is set to unfold Friday into Saturday near Buffalo as an intense lake effect snow band sets up off of Lake Erie. This will be combined with hurricane-force wind gusts near the lake. Expect power outages and impossible driving conditions Friday into at least Christmas Eve, Power outages will also be possible from New York to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Up o 2' of snow could fall along Lake Michigan and especially the Upper Peninsula of the state 40-60 mph winds will also accompany the heavy snow making travel extremely hazardous. Flight delays for the Christmas holiday will likley expand into Christmas Eve as the wind remains very strong. Another system will impact Washington and Oregon and parts in the Mountain West with Rain, snow, and ice on Friday and Christmas Eve.
