Tree-Style Web History

Most of what you learn on the web you never bookmark. You read it, close the tab, and a week later you remember only that it existed. The histre extension keeps the trail for you.

A day of browsing shown as a tree: a Google search, then the Wikipedia pages opened from it, with time spent on each

What it keeps

With history turned on, the extension records the address, title and favicon of each page you visit and how long you stayed. Pages open from one another, so the record is a tree, not a list: the search result, the three tabs you opened from it, and the one you stayed on.

Where it goes

Your history page in histre shows each day as a tree you can fold and unfold, with a heat map of how much browsing each day held. Everything in it is searchable alongside your notes, and any page in it can be bookmarked or annotated after the fact.

Pausing and privacy

History can be paused from the extension at any time and switched off for your whole account from settings. Private browsing windows are never recorded. Your history is yours alone; it is never shown to other members and never sold.

The extension can also keep the text of the pages you visit, which makes them findable by what they said, not only by their titles.
