In 1963, the City of Cambridge sold the building to Boston's Catholic Archdiocese, which renamed the school "The North Cambridge Catholic High School." LaCourt Realty acquired the building in 2010 from the Archdiocese, fully-restored the outside of the building -including the uncovering of the original "Ellis School" sign - and simultaneously preserved the long history of the "North Cambridge Catholic High School." (as seen in the video). Lacourt Realty converted the classrooms to residences, added two levels to the original 35-foot tall auditorium (using custom steel truss systems,) and produced elegant corridors that bring proper dignity to this historic landmark. The Ellis School was historically demarcated in 2012 as one of the "most handsome buildings in Cambridge." Lacourt Realty will meticulously steward this property for many generations. #ExploreLacourtRealty #EllisSchoolResidences #historicpreservation via YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFHERJbVXcM
