The most common name in modern American usage, is simply "the Civil War". Although used rarely during the war, the term "War Between the States" became widespread afterward in the Southern United States. During and immediately after the war, Northern forces often used the term "War of the Rebellion", while the Southern equivalent was "War for Southern Independence". The latter regained some currency in the late 20th century, but has again fallen out of use. Other terms often reflect a more explicitly partisan view of events, such as "War of Northern Aggression", used by some Southerners, or the "Freedom War", used by their black counterparts to celebrate the effect the war had on ending slavery. In most foreign languages, the war is called "War of Secession". #history #historical_revisionism #BS #i_am_benevolent_pattern #politics #democracy #USA #cIvil_wars #pub
Seems like it was originally titled "Tell creepy men online about how you feel" or something of that nature. Generalizes a bunch of stuff like only men look at naked female celeb pics, and reddit is filled with mysogynists. Article then goes after specific people on Twitter who aren't that big or anything. Sometimes their examples of hypocrisy are off base too (like not wanting the government spying on you in real time via your webcam is hypocritical when you view private but now widely available pics of celebs taken by a camera). #bad_job #examples #i_am_benevolent_pattern #journalism #moral_outrage #pandering #pub

How many of the 300 likes and the dozen replies block ads or other similar tactics that are also against the terms of service and many times are also hurting individual people if these people are okay not fully paying big corporations? How is that not completely hypocritical? No less for shaming someone else for attempting to do what you actually already do. #hypocrisy #i_am_benevolent_pattern #holier_than_thou_pattern #patterns_sensitive_about_their_shit_as_if_its_so_obviously_right #patterns_the_cult_of_the_amateur #$patterns #pub
